Driving and Performance
drive verb
\ ˈdrīv \
Definition of drive
transitive verb
1: to frighten or prod (game, cattle, etc.) into moving in a desired direction
If you look up the word
drive in the dictionary you will find Merriam Webster's first definition to be "to frighten or prod (game, cattle, etc.) into moving in a desired direction". If you think about it, that is exactly what we are doing when we push on a "gas" pedal in an internal combustion car. We control the amount of fuel and air for the fire. We have gotten used to the delayed response from the time we give a push until the engine responds.
